Do I Really Need 8 Hours Of Sleep?

Today, I want to tell you about the eight hours of sleep in this audio article.

The reason why I really want to address this is because recently, I had someone talk to me and they were really worried about their sleep.

Usually I really welcome that if I have someone telling me about this . . .

But this time, she was telling me that she was taking sleeping meds because she was sleeping so poorly.

So I asked her, "How many hours do you usually get?"

She told me: "Well, six, maximum."

I was stunned.

"Why do you take sleeping pills?"

And she said: "Well, I know that you have to sleep at eight hours in order to be perfectly healthy."

Now she is a very health-conscious lady and so I asked her:

"Do you feel tired in the morning? After six hours ..."

Her answer was: "No."

That is exactly the problem.

If you don't feel tired after six hours of sleep, well, then you don't need more than six hours.

In this article, what I wanted to tell you is that you don't necessarily need eight hours.

Eight hours is an average. It doesn't mean that everyone needs to sleep eight hours.

If you do perfectly well on six hours, then that's perfect.

Some of you will do well on five hours. It is a little bit rarer, but it does exist.

Some of you might do okay with five hours and you will probably catch up over the weekend, which is when you sleep a little bit longer.

Don't freak out if you don't get eight hours of sleep.

It's very, very personal.

Also, don't freak out if you need a little bit more sleep.

It's always according to how your body works and individual needs.

I just wanted to get that out there so that you can feel a little bit less stressed when you go to bed and are already thinking:

"Okay, it's impossible that I will get my eight hours." Well, then so be it.

Then you don't have eight hours.

Even if you are someone who needs eight hours, in that case, you won't get them which will mean that you will be a little bit more tired, but you will survive.

It will be fine.

Don't freak out about it.

I hope this has helped you a little bit to put your mind at ease and to be a little bit less stress when you go to bed tonight.
