Welcome to how to get your first clients into the door aka get your first client from your health talk 2019! 

So far we talked about who you want to work with and your tagline. Today, I want to talk about something that you can get into place before you have anything of the tech setup.

We'll talk about the tech setup soon as well. Meaning websites, email newsletters and all of that jazz. But, today I'm going to focus on one of the easiest things, namely "How to get your first client from your health talk 2019". 

My mentee, Bailey, texted me a few days ago, saying that she is thinking about doing workshops for less than $100! Generally, I would say no, but in the beginning of your business: sure. We do things for free sometimes. To get the word out, to share the message that we're doing something and to enroll clients.

My number one tip (my secret weapon so to say) you should absolutely have when you are doing a talk is a sheet of paper!

On that sheet of paper, you have the following fields to be filled out:

name,

phone number,

email address,

occupation,

and then lots of different symptoms. Those symptoms can be fatigue, headache, migraine, low libido, bloating, constipation, PMS... 

Next on that paper, I have:

  • How long have you had your sleep problem?
  • Do you want to get rid of it, yes or no? If your answer is yes, how do you want me to get in touch with you? Phone or email?

I usually also have a little giveaway. Remember, this is not online! This is for when I actually talk to people in person. Such as a group setting, a workshop, talk...

The reason I do this when I talk about sleep or about anything else really,  you know that these symptoms never come alone. There are always other symptoms that are happening simultaneously. I use the example of a car and I basically say, if you're in a car and your maintenance light is going off, you are in the shop the next day. It's your car, it's expensive! But, if you have a symptom, and we compare that to a maintenance light going off, you just ignore it. You'll pop a pill, you'll ignore it, you don't look at the root cause. You just ignore it.

Very often, people have multiple symptoms! I just tell them, this is your dashboard, this is the dashboard of your car and you have all of these maintenance lights going off, but this is your life. Which is much more expensive than a car.

That makes them think and at the end of the talk, I basically tell them if you want to, you can hand in the form I gave you, so that you can take part in the giveaway or, you can let me know whether you want me to get in touch with you.

The reason I do it this way is because I do a lot of workshops in corporations, and not everyone wants their boss to know that they have sleep issues. This way they can give me the paper and nobody would ever know whether they did it because of the giveaway, or because they want me to contact them.

That's a little tidbit on how to get your first client from your health talk 2019 that I think is super valuable. It works really well for me. Try it out and let me know how it went.
